A BRIEF HISTORY
High Resolution Engineering was started as a partnership between Mike Taylor and Greg Byrnes. They worked closely with Vista Systems in their first video processing system Montage. Montage was quickly replaced by Spyder which High Resolution Engineering was also early to invest in and promote. Mike and Greg were instrumental in the development and success of Spyder spending countless time and resources on R&D, proof testing the new technology in the field and working around the clock with Vista to improve the technology, help design the user interface and to prove the technology’s value and worth to the industry. By using the Spyder technology on major live events with success, High Resolution Engineering quickly helped Vista Systems build an outstanding reputation for their Spyder technology and the trend spread like wildfire in the live event industry and into the permanent installation business.
Today High Resolution Engineering is the premier company for engineering expertise and provider of the most high end Spyder display technology and systems. They now have a fleet of rental packages provided to their preferred customers and qualified engineers for top service and support.
Along the way High Resolution Engineering realized the growing trend toward DVI technology. In order to provide clients with the highest possible quality images on screen HRE found the most professional DVI Matrix Routers available. These Matrix Routers are built in Hungary by Lightware. Seeking a US presence, Lightware quickly realized the engineering background of HRE and the advantages of a partnership with them. A new company was formed by the owners of High Resolution Engineering called LightwareUSA. LightwareUSA became and still is today the sole US distributor of all Lightware technology. Once again Mike and Greg proved a new high end technology to have value throughout the market by using it on live events and getting the technology in front of the industry.
Based on a need for external control of the Lightware routers and other systems on large high end events that High Resolution Engineering was supporting, a new control system was formed. Starting as a basic need for specific show control of the Lightware routers and quickly growing into a total flexible control solution once again a new company was formed under the same ownership called High Resolution Systems. High Resolution Systems provides the Universal Device Control Software as the heart of a new type of control system. With the background of High Resolution Engineering and LightwareUSA, High Resolution Systems is able to provide a practical, easy to use and end user friendly control solution.
